EXPOSITION FOR THE WORD OF THE MONTH OF AUGUST 2023
Word for the month: Month of Joy
Text: Exo 15: 1 – 18; Isa 12:3, Ps 45:7
The Lord gave His word, and great is the company of those that proclaimed it. This month, the Lord gave the household of TACSFONUI a word to run with. Last month the word was victory, and this month is month of JOY.
Joy does not represent the absence of troubling circumstances, however, it is an expression of a position one is regardless of the prevailing or overwhelming circumstances. Joy can only be expressed by the Spirit of God which dwells in a believer. An unbeliever can never understand, experience or express joy, the best that might be experienced in this case would be happiness.
Concerning the month of August, here are a few things that we must understand concerning God’s word given to us.
1. There would be challenges that might seem to weigh us down: As explained earlier, joy is made evident in the midst of sadness, just as light is appreciated when there is darkness. Could it be the just-released results or the increase in the school fees that might seem to weigh you down? God has given us His word and you need faith to see from God’s perspective. God’s perspective is that whatever the tide, we are far above it, we are in a position of rest. The kingdom of God is in righteousness, peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost.
2. We would overcome: The key to overcoming is to walk in the fear of God; Psalm 45:7 gives us an understanding of what happens when a man loves righteousness and hates iniquity. This was the secret to the extraordinary life Jesus Christ lived, he did nothing except that which the Father did. As a result, the Lord anointed Him with an oil of gladness above His fellows.
Not walking in the fear of God permits the enemy to have a free passage in our lives as it hinders God from expressing His possibilities through His Spirit in us.
3. We would rejoice: With Joy, we shall draw from the wells of our salvation. The kingdom of God has come to us and the way it is expressed is not in gluttony, but in righteousness, peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost. We do not look like the situation, we look like what we should be in God through Christ Jesus. We do not express sorrow, for we know what manner of Spirit we are made of. Hallelujah!
