ON THIS ISSUE OF LOVE

Okay, have you ever wondered why we hardly talk about what love is not? Well, I have wondered too and I don’t know why either. However, when we know what love is not, we appreciate and understand better what love is. Do you agree with me?? Good. Let’s move.

WARNING: Tables are about to be broken, are you ready????

Let’s start this way.

Love is NOT SPEAKING IN TONGUES, NOT PROPHESYING OR SHARING RHEMA

That you speak in tongues doesn’t mean you love God, that you have gift of prophecy is neither a measure of your love. All these are gifts and they are necessary for the edification of the body of Christ but they are not a criteria of your love for God. So dear brother and sister, look beyond the manifestation and ensure that there is really LOVE. Okay, let’s move. It can only get more interesting.

Love is NOT NECESSARILY GIVING:

Watch out sister and brother, love involves giving but not all giving is love. Do you get it?? Check it, did you give to satisfy your ego or for selfish intention? The motive really matters. It is more about you than the other person, check well, it might not be love.

Love is NOT ENVIOUS:

Fire brand brother and sister, please calm down and follow me. It is possible you might have achieved better things than this other sister but learn to celebrate everyone, no matter how insignificant. It could also be that you deserved that award or credit but it was given to him, still celebrate. Envy can creep in unconsciously, be careful, be guided and be led. Hope you are still with me?

Love is NOT BOASTFUL:

My beautiful sister, allow the result to speak for itself. My handsome brother, allow the works to testify of your excellence. That’s more honorable. Beyond all, allow God show you and boast of you Himself. That’s more beautiful. Being boastful means exhibiting self importance. That’s shallow thinking. Imagine Jesus was like this, maybe salvation of mankind would have been a wish. There are a lot more important things to do, channel that energy to doing more excellent things. Oh i am sorry, I didn’t mean to sound kind of harsh, it is because I love you. Stay patient with me and let’s keep going.

Love is NOT RUDE NOR IRRITABLE:

This shouldn’t even be a subject of discussion right? To be rude is a socially unacceptable and incorrect behaviour. If it is not even socially acceptable, why would you think a person that has love would be rude? So, don’t try it. Use polite words and tones always. Of course, some people are extremely annoying and they deserve real savage answers but love is graceful. Your actions and reactions should carry grace. Grow up already. You don’t have to reply to it. If your response to that uncle will not carry grace, don’t try to response. Are you still with me? Hope i have not offended you? We are almost done, just keep following.

Love DOES NOT DEMAND ITS OWN WAY. Love DOES NOT INSIST ON ITS OWN RIGHTS OR ITS OWN WAY. Love is NOT SELF SEEKING:

Gather there if this is your table. Hold your hammer of God’s truth, we are about to shatter this table. This is a subtly and very tricky table. Almost everyone is on this one. I call it the thin line table. It is the thin line between loving your neighbor as yourself and loving yourself ‘a little more’ than your neighbor. It can be in your heart, it can also be expressive. You made your point in the discussion, listen to others too. You are not the ultimate. The world doesn’t revolve around you dearly beloved. Be humble enough to listen. Listen, don’t hear. That’s love.

Love does NOT KEEP RECORD OF WHEN IT HAS BEEN WRONGED:

Do we have more sisters on this table? Well… whether sister or brother, just make sure the table is broken. Are we together? Hmm, that is her usual practice, he is always like this and that, that’s how they do? Ah ah!!! Aren’t you tired of keeping the records?? Aren’t you tired of remembering? Why keep painful memories?? Just let go already. You can’t survive with the hot coals of anger you are carrying about. Allow God to help you. Please forgive and forget. To FORGET means that you don’t relive the past. Though the memories may linger but it is not hurting again, you are no longer offended. In love, we pray for those that offend us instead. Jesus is a perfect example. We are almost done, just one more table.

Hope the journey has been worth it?? One last one, Love NEVER FAILS. Love does not come to an end. Prophecies will cease at last, every other thing will cease but not love. Love should not be dependent on the other person’s action or reaction. Don’t love because he/ she deserves it. Love is an independent ingredient. It should flow like a river. God is love. Love is about God.

Hey beloved, I hope you were blessed through this journey. I hope you allow the Holy Spirit point out your flaws. This is honestly far beyond the knowledge of personality traits which we all tend to use as an excuse or means of justification for every character of ours that shows not Christ. Love is the the foundation of our faith and it’s also the most important material witgh which our faith is built. I hope this message will help you now appreciate and really understand what love truly is now that you know what love is not.
