HOUSE RETREAT 2024
DAY 2, POWER NIGHT.
WEDNESDAY, 24TH APRIL, 2024.
Opening Prayer:
Bro Oladeji Ayomide came up at 6:10 pm and encouraged the brethren to come together.
He then led the church to sing the following songs in earnest expectations for the move of God in the power night session of the retreat.
- Omi iye, omi iye ooo…
- like fire like rain, let your glory fall
At 6:15 pm, he handed over to Sister Faith Akinwande who continued in the song “Like fire, like rain, let your glory fall…” in addition, she led the following songs;
- Eeya ya, eeya ya, eeya ya… (a chant)
- Fowo kan mi , fowo kan mi oo…
- Emimimo ose o, emi awon wooli, iwokuku lagbara wa
- Agbara olorun po… olana so ri okun, owo odi Jericho.
- Gbatagbara olorun de, ni ojo pentikosti…
The President came up at 6:27 pm and led the Church to continue in the atmosphere of expectations as he also led the following songs;
- Agbaraaa, agbaraaa…. agbara olorun mi ko le di baje lai lai
- Iye; iye; iye eh eh/2x.. ah ah ah..
- Holy Spirit carry me oo…. carry me oo
He ended the songs at 6:31 pm and then led the church to pray in the Holy Ghost while charging us to come up hither. He read from Matthew 3:11 and told everyone to prepare their hearts for the outpouring.
He then introduced the minster in person of Bro Emmanuel Okpara
Topic: The Outpouring
The minister came up at 6:34 pm and led the church to begin to pray in the Holy Ghost. In intermission, with the atmosphere charged and voices echoing in prayers, He led the songs following while the congregation continued to pray in the Holy Ghost
1. Ah ah eh, eh eh ah, ah ah ah, ah ah ah…
2. Oh speak from heaven and the earth will hear…
At 7:14 pm He asked the congregation to sit briefly while leading us to sing
Like fire, like rain…
This is the realm of your glory, this is the realm of your grace…. You are holy…
In the same atmosphere of power and grace, he began exposition on the effect of the outpouring of the Spirit, stating that;
1. When the Holy Ghost comes, he burns away every chaff in a man’s life. He said the dealings will start at the retreat but will not necessarily end there because according to Malachi 3:1-3, the Holy Spirit will come to burn and refine.
2. Another thing the Holy Ghost does when he comes is to build you in Character. He forms Christ in you.
Colossians 4:27b, Matthew 4:1.
He comes to make Christ dwell in us richly and the major way is through Scriptures. 2 Pet 1:5-7
3. Empowerment: Holy Ghost comes to empower us and strengthen us for service.
He rounded up the message and he then led the Church to sing “Until I am Full…”,
While praying in tongues, He led the church to pray that God will take away whatever stands as dross in our lives.
He also led the church to pray for the manifestation of new dimensions of the Holy Spirit.
He then began ministering to the sick and certain set of people who by the discernment of the Holy Ghost he called out.
After this, he led the church in praying in the Holy Ghost while the giftings of the Holy Spirit will be activated in people’s lives.
After ministering to people he rounded up the session at exactly 8:53 pm right after asking people to bless the name of the Lord.
The President came up after Him and led the congregation in a powerful worship session with the following songs;
Blessed be the name of the Lord…
Elohim Adonai…
He led the congregation to rejoice in the Holy Ghost while declaring “I am Light…”
And then read from Hebrews 8:11 and charged the congregation to shout a very loud amen as he declared the words of the verse.
The session was halted at exactly 9:07 pm with a closing prayer and benediction.
