EXPOSITION FOR THE WORD OF THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER 2023

Word for the Month: Month of Glory Text: Isaiah 60:1, 2 Corinthians 3:18

To God be the glory great things He hath done. We bless the name of the Lord for giving us His word in the Household of Refuge on Thursday, 7th September 2023 during the monthly prayer meeting tagged PENIEL. The word for the month is month of glory and it signifies a lot as we would be exposing as you read on.

Glory is a characteristic only God has, and has chosen to bestow on every one of His creation in a measure it can carry. God is the father of glory meaning that all glory that existed, exists and could ever exist finds its root in God. The Son being Christ is the brightness of His glory and the expressed image of the person of God (Hebrews 1:3, John 1:14).

This month, God intends to bring us to the focus of the transformation into the very image of the Son of God from glory to glory. Here are a few things we must note.

1. Darkness has covered the earth and gross darkness the people: In the contemporary world we now live in, there exists darkness. This darkness is not the physical, but a spiritual one. The level of evil and immorality of this age is due to the presence of unfathomable darkness that exists on the earth, and the greater one that exists in the lives of the people in the world. God created male and female, but now, in the society we have more than two genders. This is a vivid expression of darkness.

2. The Lord shall arise upon us: According to the bible verse used for the word of the month, Isaiah 60:1 – 3, we can see that there is actually a solution to the darkness on the earth for we believers. This is the solution: the Lord shall arise upon us. For the Lord to arise upon us, we have to pay attention to the next bible verse which is 2 Corinthians 3:18. The simple instruction is to diligently pay close attention to the Word of God just as a man would behold a mirror. This is the key to transformation and escape from the darkness that exists in the world today.


3. Gentiles shall come to our light and kings to the brightness of our rising: Just as the concluding part of Isaiah 60: 1 – 3, the end goal is that the world realising that they are in darkness would come towards the light that they do not have. Afterwards, another category of persons shall come toward a man who has given more attention to being transformed into the glory of God. These men are called kings, they hold specific positions in the world and they are attracted to the brightness of the rising of a man just like the queen of Sheba was attracted to the wisdom of Solomon.

This month, it is our prayer that everyone comes to fellowship with the glory of God and is transformed into that same image in Jesus name amen.

PRAYERS
• Father, I thank you for your word which has come to me at this very time. Thank you for the privilege to be called your child and the power given to me to become your son (John 1:12)
• I ask Lord that I am cleansed by the blood of Jesus from my iniquities, transgressions and sins. In Jesus name, I receive forgiveness from every guile (Hebrews 10:22)
• I ask Lord for the grace to be focused on your word and place as top priority the ministry of your word this month (John 1:16)
• This month, the glory of the Lord is revealed in me, all flesh shall see it together for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it (Isa 40:5)
• This month, I with open face behold the glory of the lord and I am transformed into the image of glory even by the Spirit of God(2 Corinthians 3:18).
• This month, I arise and shine for my light has come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon me (Isa 60:1 – 3)
• Thank you Father for this month and even beyond, I am a carrier of your glory.
