Word Session

Bro Simeon Ojobe, the TACSFON National Assistant General Secretary came up and led the church in the song: ‘take my life and let it be consecrated to you’. He mentioned that the preparation for the induction of the outgoing executives was challenging but God ultimately came through and helped the executives even during their tenure, stating that there were a lot of challenges which God helped them overcome. He appreciated the presence of the alumni in the house. Below is the summary of the message.

Topic: Greater Works; God’s season of grace
Text: John 14:12

He started the word with a testimony from a brother who was inspired by the Holy Spirit to combine the sap of a tree with concrete to make it stronger, and another who was inspired to withdraw his stocks from the market and afterwards the stock market crashed. He stated that the testimonies are gladdening because they are not just common ones but that they are the outworking of the Holy Spirit in our different fields.
The foundation for greater works is the trust we have in the love of God for us. This is why it is easier for some to pick up when they fall because they have a revelation of the love of the father for us and are convinced beyond doubt of this reality.

  • Greater works is a heritage of sons: not just being a child, it is growing up into maturity. For unto us a child is born, for unto us a son is born: you don’t put the kingdom on the shoulder of a child (Isaiah 9:6)
  • The secret of greater works is revelation. Some things don’t happen except you have the revelation of the almighty:
  • Prayer: I receive the ministration of the eye salve so I can see correctly, I receive the circumcision of my ears so I can hear what the spirit is saying.
  • Don’t do greater works in the name of doing something extra, the greater works spoken here is talking about being led by the Spirit of God and being spiritual
  • The extent of our greater works is to the extent of our faith. It is determined by how much we are able to believe God and exercise our faith.
  • The target of greater works is kingdom harvest not selfish gain. The Lord intends to marvel the world, that is why he intends to do greater works through you and I.
  • Prayer: I receive grace to channel my vision correctly unto kingdom harvest. When you want to check yourself ask: how much has the kingdom prospered in my hands.

Prayer: I refuse to distracted in life; I fix my gaze on what advances the kingdom.

Things That Fosters Greater Works (Psalm 110 verse 3)
Salvation and Justification: “Your people…”  Signifying that anyone who will do greater works must be God’s own.

  • Willingness and Obedience: “…shall be willing…”: To be willing is not enough but to properly carry out the instructions that comes with our resolution of willingness. It was properly grounded in the scriptures using Matthew 21:28-32, the parable of the two sons.
  • An atmosphere of Holiness: “…in the beauty of Holiness…” The atmosphere of holiness as a willing adornment. Taking holiness as a thing of joy, in its beauty. We must enter these things with joy of the Holy Ghost. It is in the atmosphere of holiness that greater works is done correctly.
  • Timing: “…from the womb of the morning…” There is a source from which these came from is the reality of the new creation and these things are fulfilled in the strength of youth. This is a call to serve God in our youthful days.
  • Prayer: That greater works finds expression in my life

After the word session which ended with prayers at 12:15 pm, Bro Isaac Leoto, the Assistant Coordinator of TACSFON Western Zone came up to lead a powerful session of prayer. He read from 1 Corinthians 13:11; that the three things that are revealed in that scriptures make the outward expression of a mature man: your speech, your understanding, and your thought pattern.

  • That the Lord brood on our speech, understanding, and thought pattern
  • Lord, you make our feet like hinds’ feet and let there be a proper alignment of our faith and experiences
  • We pray for speed and security (preservation) Exodus 19;4.
  • We prayed over all infirmities and oppression of the enemy; Jeremiah 30:17
  • By your mercy Lord, rescue and heal Nigeria

Commissioning the New Army

The prayers ended by 12:57 pm and the new executives were called out to be inducted by Bro Akin Odemakinde. He then gave room for the chosen executive to signify their willingness or unwillingness, to which they all agreed with ‘Yes I am willing may the Lord help me’. Afterward the church was asked to indicate their willingness to be served by them by standing up which everyone responded to by standing upright on their feet.
The incoming executives went on their knees and were prayed for by the Alumni brethren and the zonal executives who ministered to them individually. He then read from Psalm 104:15 and the church began to pray in like manner. At 1:39 pm the prayers were concluded. The newly inducted set of executives were officially inducted by Bro Simeon Ojobe at 1:42 &pm who gave the newly inducted President a handshake and then the rest of the executives. Joy filled the house as the Executives were asked to go back to their seats.
Bro Akin Odemakinde came up and admonished the church to tap into the grace that has been made available and shy away from indiscipline that wants to pervade the atmosphere. This stems from his observation of some brethren seating while prayers were being raised. He then sang the song; ‘The church is marching on’
At 1:49 pm the patron came up to give his remarks. Bro Simeon Ojobe invited the alumni Chairman, Professor Popoola for a remark and also Bro Isaac Leoto came up and asked the church to pray for the journey of the brethren.

Blessing time
The offering basket was passed around at 1:56 pm with songs led by the newly inducted choir coordinator Sis Faith Akinwande:
Glory glory, hallelujah…
When the spirit of the Lord is upon my soul…

He charged the church to grow into the place of maturity and to cultivate a deliberate heart towards seeking God and labour for the church because, there is a higher calling.
