The Bread and the Seed

Let’s take a walk back in time…

2 Corinthians 9:10‭-‬11 NIV

Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.

Come to think about it, if all seeds were eaten, will there be bread for food?

There’s no doubt about the wisdom of God for us for all subject matter. You just think about it, there’s always a provision of God’s word for whatever it is that exist.

Let’s talk about an aspect of your life, your finances.

Reading through the quoted scripture, you will agree with me that there is a wisdom for us to learn and walk in as believers.

It tells about the position of God who can supply our every need. Not just that alone, for the sower, beyond the provision of seeds, there is also bread for consumption.

Look at it this way, when last have you seen God as your provider? When did you ever consider that God can provide a means for you where you do not just have what it takes only for today, but you have enough to store for times to come, and not just that, you also have enough to be generous on every occasion such that your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God even in the mouth of many.

Take a pause and read that again. Maybe twice or thrice. You should do this until it settles in your spirit.

The farmer wouldn’t always eat all his seeds. There should be a place of distinction where he separates the seeds for food and the ones that returns back to the soil.

It’s funny how that we rarely choose to separate whatever money enters our pocket. Many times, we do not even have any plans to save or invest in a thing or two.

You will agree with me that even in Paul’s prayer, he recognized the significance of the seed and the bread. The seed is what we return back to the cycle and the bread is what is meant for consumption. It shows the wisdom of recycling. You shouldn’t eat everything that comes to your pocket. Distinctively your tithe is a seed which should be separated from scratch after which you budget every other part of what enters into your pocket.

What percentage is going for savings and investment? What percentage is going for giving? What is it that you are doing to see that your money grows?

While it is true that oftentimes, situations of times may want to make it look like there is no space to save or invest, there is always a seed and bread in every financial blessing.

Trust me, there’s always something calling for our money. You would have to imbibe that culture where you doesn’t eat all that enters your pocket.

You shouldn’t forget that you are blessed to become a blessing. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion. My goodness, God is saying that He can bless you that on every occasion you have that capacity to be generous.

All these are still not for vainglory and boasting. Your generosity should result in thanksgiving to God.

So, starting from now, you don’t just eat everything that comes to your pocket. Separate your seed from your bread and see in light of God’s word how it is that He wants you to live and thrive.

Yh, believe it, for God will perform 💯
