1 Chronicles 12:32 KJV
[32] And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment.
The lifetime of a man is defined by seasons which give definitions to the stages or emphasis of God for his life.
Wisdom demands that waking up to every new day requires that you live out each day on the basis of God’s plan. There’s that thing which you must accomplish each day based on God’s accurate definition for each season.
So David, in the season of preparation for the throne was found tending the flock of his father in the wildernesses, learning the skills of a shepherd. Like wise Moses, caught up with the burdens of the sufferings of his people, was found defending his brothers in the day when they were being intimidated by the Egyptians.
Everything in our lives has a season, an appropriate time, in a manner that’s charged with purpose. Not just any purpose, but God’s purpose for us. Our seasons vary in length and intensity—and in what they require from us. On a note of importance, each season comes with consecrations which assist in the fulfilment of those times. Still on David, the wilderness developed in David a thirst for God.
Psalm 63:1-2 KJV
[1] O God, thou art My God; early will I seek thee: My soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee In a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; [2] To see thy power and thy glory, So as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
David had been anointed king at the tender age of 17, but only sat on the throne at the age of 30. That is a long gap. Little did little David know, it would be many long years before that day would come, and the time in between was going to be very tough. It was during those years that David learned how to handle a crisis, how to love his enemies, honor authority, love mercy, and walk humbly with his God.
Understanding our seasons of life requires a vital, open, trusting relationship with God. Know your Kairos and stick to the consecrations that come with them.
