We sang the following songs furthermore, “Emi erupe lasan to se leniyan…”, “Open the floodgates in abundance…”, “Let your power flow in this place…”.

He quoted the scripture, Luke 4:18, and stated that the instruction was specifically from God that he should pray for those who have one ailment or the other. Then, he declared God’s healing over their lives in the name of Jesus.

He also received that there was a particular person who was oppressed by the devil for precisely 4 years. He declared that, “today is the person’s day of salvation and the person is now liberated”. Then he sang the song, “There is power in the name of Jesus…”.

To God whom nothing shall be impossible, chains were broken!

He quoted the scripture, 2 Corinthians 2:14, and asked the Church to rejoice and greet the brethren beside them, “welcome to church” before asking the Church to sit. He then instructed the congregation to bring out their Bibles and notepads.

He asked the church to open to the book of Hebrews 1:1-2. Then he quoted the prophecy in the book of Joel 2:28.

He advised that the congregation paid close attention as the theme for the first half of the session would be exposed in the service.

He said, “in order for a man to succeed, it is expedient that he takes heed to instruction”. He asked that the book of 1 Peter 2:9 be projected and read. He asked the congregation to stand as they read Revelations 1:5-6. He said, “every believer has been called into the office of a Priest”. He defined a priest as one who is duly authorized to minister in sacred things particularly to offer sacrifices at the altar and act as a mediator between man and God.

The things to note about Priests:
1. Priests are divinely-selected. Hebrews 5:1, Luke 4:18
2. They represent the people. Hebrews 2: 16-17, Exodus 28:9. He quoted Habakkuk 2: 1
3. Priests offer sacrifices. Reference was made to Hebrews 5; 1-3

Expectations from Priests
1. To put on a priestly garment. Exodus 28:1-2. He stated that this garment is HOLINESS. He quoted 1Peter 1: 15- 16.
2. Consecration and sanctification are expected from Priests. 2Timothy 2:20-21
3. Obedience 1 Sam 15:22: HE gave an example of how Jesus was exalted because He obeyed.
4. Faithfulness Matt 6:24: “For you to be a priest of God, you have to close your eyes to the world and mammon. Where is your loyalty? We sang the song: “We ascend the highest mountain…”.

At this point, he called for two ushers. The ushers came to the front with the banner bearing the theme.

He continued, “The very intention of God from the beginning is that we serve Him in fear and holiness. God has called us Royal Priesthood. This is a call for us to assume responsibility. Luke 1:74-75. God is expecting us to serve him in holiness and sanctification. God is counting on us to set free the sick, the oppressed, the captives, and to be an ambassador of holiness, boldness and righteousness. It is no longer about us; it is about the word of God. The question is: WILL YOU ASSUME POSITION? The burden is to be an embodiment of holiness and righteousness.”

He asked the congregation to be on their feet. As he exposed the theme for the first half of 2022/2023 session which is RIGHTEOUSNESS, the banner was unveiled. The congregation applauded as this happened.

He opened the book of Isaiah 62:1-2. He said that the Lord is calling us to be an embodiment of righteousness and purity, and to close our eyes to things that appear convenient but is not in the will of God for our lives. He then asked us to pray that we would not miss the rain of righteousness that is pouring out. He sang the song “Ojo ibukun, ojo ibukun lafe…
