DEAR TACSFON UI,
Welcome to the second semester of 2022/23 Session. This is another opportunity to show forth God’s glory in your academics. As you move on in this semester, here are few things you should consider;
1. Forget those things that are behind: Just as Apostle Paul says in the book of Phil 3:13, forgetting those things that are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead. Here is a new semester, another opportunity to do excellently well in your academics, don’t be limited either by past failures or past success of first semester as they are both capable to limit you, rather approach this semester with a mindset to do exploits regardless of what has happened in the first semester.
2. Review Your first semester: Although, it is important not to be weighed down about whatsoever happened in the last semester, it is still important to review the last semester. There are lessons to learn in the last semester so as not to repeat such mistakes again. There are also some things you did last semester that helped you to improve in your academics. There is a need to build more on them. You can ask these questions while reviewing the semester:
what strategies worked better last semester?
Which one did not?
What are the things you did that makes you understand some courses better? etc.
3. Set a goal/target for second semester: Be explicit in setting your goal for the semester, write out your target score for each course, write out your target test score, write out your target GP for the semester etc. The Scriptures says “Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it .” Write your vision out and read it, that is when you can run with it. Just having it in your mind won’t help.
4. Draft out a plan on how to achieve your set goal: The Scriptures says “which of you, intending to build a tower does not sit down first and count the cost whether he has enough to finish it.” This Scripture shows the important of planning. Therefore, it is very expedient that you draft out a plan to achieve your set goal for this semester. The first semester review will also help you in this. Trust God for wisdom and strategy for this semester. He can teach your hands to war and your fingers to battle, just trust Him!
5. Don’t hesitate to ask for help: If you need help with any of your courses or in any area relating to your academics, please don’t be too shy to ask for help. Ask your course mates, ask your seniors in the department, the Academic Arm of TACSFON UI is also there to help you, you can always come.
6. Commit your academics into God’s hands: Prov 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path”. Commit your academics into God’s hands and let Him take the lead.
Finally, Brethren, God is set to do great and mighty things in your academics this semester, however, your participation is needed. In bringing God’s will to fulfilment in your academics, you have to observe all your participatory roles above. DON’T FAIL TO DO YOUR PART.
Let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of his servant!
The Academic Arm of the House wishes you a blissful academic journey this semester. It is a success already!
Thank you academic arm.
I’m encouraged.
