We understand that prayer is the means by which we communicate with God. But then, what should you be communicating with God about? Your needs, your fears, your problems?
Logically, communication is termed effective when the respondent actively engages with the subject of communication. So you are convinced that your message has been delivered to the respondent when you get feedback. Since prayer is also termed communication. Does this principle apply?
In prayers, we’re not only restricted to talking to God. We can talk to situations orchestrated by the devil to frustrate us. Now, this is where your prayers become your seat of authority.
God wants you to know what happened in the death, burial, resurrection, and seating of Jesus Christ. He wants you to know that He has set Christ “Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named….” (Eph. 1:21).
Since you are now seated with Christ, you operate from that seat of authority. No longer can the devil keep you bound, except you allow him to.
Speak to that ailment, that issue with forgetfulness, that difficulty, that spirit of fear, that anxiety, that financial constraints.
Speak it until you believe it
Keep believing until you see it
Keep seeing it until you can walk in it
As Smith Wigglesworth often said, “I’m not moved by what I see. I’m not moved by what I feel. I’m moved only by what I believe.” So stand your ground today. Engage your prayers from that seat of authority.
MARANATHA!
Wonderful article. It reemphasized the sermon preached on Sunday. I was re blessed again. More grace.
I operate from the seat of authority so I fear no evil, glory to God because this is my reality.
